Auricular Self Healing Therapy
There is no doubt in my mind that whoever our Creator is, ‘S/HE’ is a super duper genius of all times! There are many reasons why I believe that but with this blog I shall deal with just one little part of it. We all know or should know by now that we all have an inborn pharmacy to heal ourselves. We’ve just somehow managed to lose this knowledge over the past centuries, as we have strayed farther and farther away when modern science took over. Fortunately, we are now slowly, very slowly rediscovering ourselves and who we truly are. The human body is a magnificently engineered self-healing organism, which can do all of the healing and repair work for virtually any health condition, as long as you supply it with a jump-start.
In this blog I want to introduce you to the magnificence of your ears! Yes that’s right, your ears! To be precise to auriculotherapy or auricular therapy or simply ear reflexology! If this term is new to you, I am sure you are familiar with foot reflexology, a Chinese healing method to heal the body by massaging the feet. Well auricular therapy is just another healing method of massaging the ears that has been kept alive over the past centuries by the wise Chinese.
With your ears you have a self-care technique that you can use at any time any where to relieve yourself of pain, stress, insomnia, high blood pressure, diabetes, alcohol and drug addictions, excess weight, headaches, backaches and many more ailments. Each reflex point on the outer ear affects a specific organ or system in your body. Stimulate any particular point on your outer ear with your fingertips and the body itself takes over and begins to correct the problem.
This is how it works. As you apply pressure on a point on your outer ear, your outer ear sends a message to the brain. The brain then transmits an order to the body to flood the system with pain killing bio chemicals such as endorphins and enkephalins. The moment high levels of these bio chemicals are introduced in the blood and cerebrospinal fluid, the body kills the pain spontaneously. You’ll have no need for any drug-based painkillers. All you need is the knowledge of which points to press and how to stimulate those points. A professional can help with this treatment with acupuncture needles. But the good news is that home treatment with your finger-tips is just as effective.
Imagine you have a smoking habit and you wish to get rid of it. If you apply pressure with your finger-tips, or apply pressure with a blunt point of something like a match stick, on the nicotine point it tricks the body into thinking it is receiving nicotine when it actually is not. That’s because the stimulation induces the production of endorphins. The endorphins lock in to the specific neuro-receptors that nicotine binds to thereby causing the body to think it is ingesting nicotine. Stress related health problems could disappear if you learn to stimulate the Shen Men point on your outer ear. You just have to know where that Shen Men point is exactly. Contrary to traditional acupuncture which works on the energy meridians of the body, auricular therapy is based on nerve connections which allows for localized treatment for the organs or systems involved. It works because the stimulation of the ear’s reflex points improves the flow of energy within the body, which removes blockages to restore balance and health.
Every part of your body can be accessed through points on your outer ear. The outer portion of the ear is a mirror image of in inverted human fetus, the head of the fetus is near the lower lobe of the ear and the feet towards the top, i.e. the ear is a microcosmic representation of the entire body.
If I have managed to raise your curiosity perhaps you’ll wonder why I’m not giving you the details of the points. Truth is it’s too much information for this blog and too complicated, besides it is easy to find all the details and diagrams you need of which point is for what organ etc. on the web. Search for auricular therapy, or auriculotherapy on google and as usual you’ll get a whole lot of websites. Find one that resonates with you and that you can understand. In the meantime, guess what? You can just massage your ears with your thumbs and index fingers while watching TV or just taking a break during work at your desk. Press your ear lobes and all around the rim then move to the inside and just reach about every part of your ear that you can with your finger-tips. Press and pinch hard until you feel your ears getting hot! Do that vigorously for a few minutes and see how you feel. Do check out the websites for the pressure points and print these images out to remind you to use this amazingly easy self healing method.
